Instructor
Mr. Powers, a Newport News native, has performed as
percussionist for many regional as well as local
groups.
He has served as drummer for renowned Gospel
artist Richard Smallwood with the University of Maryland
Gospel Choir and is leader of two well respected musical
groups here on the Peninsula, the "Jazz Masters"
and "A Touch of Spice". |

Mr. Powers has
over 25 years of musical experience and has studied music
at Christopher Newport College (currently known as
Christopher Newport University) as well as the University
of Maryland.
