Talent Extravaganza 2012!

Welcome!

Participants for the "Extravaganza" will be selected by audition. Auditions will be held at EduStar Academy, 424 Catalpa Avenue, Hampton (757-244-8466) on February 18th & 25th, and March 3. Auditions will begin at 12 noon on these dates. You must "call" for an audition time. The "Extravaganza" has 3 categories of competition and you are to pick "one" category. The categories are Vocal, Instrumental, and Dance. Solo or group performances in each category are allowed and performances are limited to 4 minutes. There must be at least 3 different acts in each category to retain that category. Baton twirlers or similar acts using batons, machetes, knives, etc., will not be accepted. No fire, smoke or smoke-effects will be allowed on stage at any time. Lyrics (performed or played by accompanying CD), actions, and dress code of any act must comply with all policies for public school student conduct. Organizers reserve the right to make a final decision on any matters pertaining to the talent show not covered by stated rules.

Eligibility: Anyone aged 8 years old and above.

Audition fee: $25.00. (Note: If you enter as a solo act, the fee is $25.00. If you enter as a group act, $25.00 is for the whole group.)

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded for 1st place and Runner- up winners in each category. The prize awards are:

1st place-$500.00
Runner-up-$100.00

A total of $1800.00 in prize money will be awarded!!

Talent Extravaganza 2011 was a great show last year, so spread the word and help make this year show the best ever.

Ticket prices for night of show: $7.00 for children up to 7 years old, $10.00, general admission.

Show's purpose: To raise funds for EduStar's "Summer Camp Program" operating expenses and to provide scholarships for camp participants. In Summer 2011, over $5000.00 was given to students in scholarship aid. The culminating show last year was "The Wiz" performed at Thomas Nelson Community College!!
